Our Approach to Therapy

At Thrive Counseling Services, we view therapy as a collaborative and individualized process.

As Laura Kietell, LCSW, shares:

“Our philosophy is to assist clients as their guide through therapy. This is your personal journey, and we’re here to help you explore your own choices.”

We focus on helping clients:

  • Understand patterns and behaviors
  • Build practical tools for managing stress and emotions
  • Strengthen relationships and communication
  • Process past experiences in a safe, structured environment

Therapy is not about fixing something that is broken. It is about creating space for growth, insight, and forward movement.

How do you help clients find the right therapist fit?

We understand that therapist fit is personal. Thrive Counseling Services has a team with different backgrounds, specialties, credentials, and approaches, and we want each client to feel comfortable, understood, and supported.

Clients can review therapist bios on our website to get to know the team. We also offer 20-minute meet-and-greet consultations to help clients get to know a therapist and determine whether they may be a good fit before getting started.

When appropriate, our team may also provide tasks, exercises, or skill-building activities to work on between sessions. These are customized to the client and may help them learn, build, and reinforce practical coping skills.

We are also happy to coordinate care with other providers, treatments, and support systems when appropriate.
